Buskers & Street Performers Saturday

October 12, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 11:45 am

The root of the word “busker” may be Italian or Spanish, but you don’t need any translation to understand and enjoy the lively sounds, exotic dancing, circus arts and the magic of watching Buskers perform onstage on Theater Street, adjacent to Lincoln Theater in downtown Damariscotta.

Throughout history, buskers simply were street performers and they earned their living by entertaining, singing, dancing, or reciting in a public place, such as in front of a theater or wandering the crowd. Since 2013 our own street performers simply have wowed festival goers with their toe-tapping, hand clapping, sing-along, spellbinding entertainment from their stage on Theater Street. And this year there’ll be an awning to keep the performers in the shade–or dry if it rains!

Buskers will perform throughout Columbus Day weekend on Saturday from 10:00 – 11:45 a.m., on Sunday from 11:00 – 2:00 p.m., and on Monday after the Pumpkinboat Regatta from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

For further information on participation in the Buskers program, please contact: buskers@damariscottapumpkinfest.com .

Numerous acts will take to the stage for the delight of visitors young and old throughout the weekend. With multiple performances over 3 days there will be something for everyone!
