Congratulations to our winners of the 2018 Pumpkinfest Dessert Contest!
Adult Division: Nancy Chick and Junior Division: Reese Nelson
Their dessert entries were selected from a panel of judges consisting of Guest Judge Patricia Tennison, Reporter and editor for Chicago Tribune, cookbook author, restaurant reviewer for The Chicago Tribune, Founder and director of Paris Writing Cafe, adjunct writing professor at National Louis University; Karen Hammond, Professional food, wine, and travel writer for The Boston Globe and restaurant reviewer for two regional magazines, and Robert Skoglund, a.k. a. the Humble Farmer, a local Mainer and radio star.
Thanks to everyone who participated and helped make this contest a success! Hopefully, we will see you next year!

ADULT DIVISION:

JUNIOR DIVISION:

2nd Place – Abby Kopp, Pumpkin Cupcakes with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting

This yummy event is free to enter and pits all chefs, bakers, and wannabe Food Network stars in the Pumpkin Dessert Contest. Cash prizes, trophies and cookbooks will be awarded! Preregistration is required.
Register by Wednesday, Oct 9th. Full rules and forms are located here or in-person at Skidompha Library.
10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. – Drop off entries for judging in Porter Hall at Skidompha Library.
1:15 p.m. – Results Announced/Tastings Sold – Theater Street Busker Stage
All types of pumpkin desserts — pies, cakes, cookies, muffins, shortbreads, puddings, crisps, clafoutis, cobblers, tarts, candies, mousse, souffles, ice creams, tortes, trifles, creme caramels, flans, semi-freddos, crepes, strudels — are eligible but they must include fresh, frozen, or canned pumpkin.
Pumpkin pie spice alone does not count.
