Chefs, Bakers, and Wannabe Food Network Stars Welcome!
The 2024 Pumpkin Dessert Contest is a celebration of all things sweet & all things pumpkin!
Participants are asked to register in advance online. Desserts will be judged by a panel on Saturday, October 12th, and then samples will be available to purchase!
Contest Guidelines
Submission forms are due by 10/1/2024. Day-of entries are not guaranteed a place in the contest. You can register online, or print your form and bring it to Skidompha Library’s front desk.
All entry recipes must include some form of pumpkin as its main ingredient. This can be fresh, canned or frozen; pumpkin spice does NOT suffice.
Please be prepared with 2 of each dessert you make, one for tasting and one for sample sales. Samples will be sold to the public after judging.
Desserts must be dropped off at the back entrance of Skidompha Library, located at 184 Main Street, Damariscotta, ME, between 9:30 - 10:30 AM on Saturday 10/12/2024. Please bring a printed copy of your recipe (with preparation instructions), in addition to emailing a copy of your recipe to dessert@damariscottapumpkinfest.com.
Bring your dessert ready to serve. You will be provided with table space to display your entry; however, you must supply your own utensils for serving. Small servings will be provided to three (3) judges. Judges will evaluate creativity of recipe, preparation, texture, flavor, overall appearance and originality. Please collect your utensils after judging, as we cannot be responsible for them.
Winners will be announced at noon, on the front steps of Skidompha Library. The creations that win 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each category will be auctioned off in a silent auction on the front porch of Skidompha, while all other entries will be offered for sample sales in the parking lot behind Gallagher, Villeneuve & DeGeer at 183 Main St. Damariscotta, ME.
